Just starting. So far so good! Unique format.. unlike the many others; it's really neat and effective!
Pronunciation drills are hard.
Best app I have used so far to learn and progress in Spanish! Quite complete except perhaps for the lack of explanations in grammar, which makes the need of a proper grammar book necessary.
interactive, but could use some explanation
it helps you identify new words with audio and video guides. would be nice if there were some guidelines rules on how the structure of grammar works.sometimes it can be difficult with out your native language direction
This is THE best way to learn. It is simply astounding how fast you learn. However that being said, you HAVE to have a basic knowledge of grammar and a full understanding of the alphabet. You need to know where the object subject and verb go in the sentence before starting and knowing how to read is necessary if you are learning a language that does not use the roman alphabet so you can really break down the sounds.
The app is great and and you actually learn, but in the case of Mandarin Chinese, it should give the option of learning Pinyin and characters at the same time instead of one or the othe, since you actually need both if you want to ever be able to communicate

Worked great up until the fact I had to pay for a subscription just to continue learning a new language.. cmon. Up until that point, the app was awesome! But having to buy a special pass after lesson 3 just seems kinda cheap.
I'm so disappointed. I don't agree with this method of learning with imagery only. I need to see the translation in order to know EXACTLY what I'm saying. I will not retain information in this manner otherwise I would just watch Spanish speaking tv instead of paying for this app. This program does not allow you to customize settings to maximize the individuals learning style. Also, how about starting off with absolute basics like gender.
So far so good; I will change to five stars if it gets more thrilling. Not that it's a bad app. It is also a better language app than most others.
Very disappointed in this app. I had taken French for many years in high school /college and wanted to brush up so I selected the intermediate option. However, it fluctuates between day 1 French vocabulary and advanced verb tenses and repeats the same basic sentence structures for a frustrating amount of time (ie. He speaks French. He is from Russia and speaks Russian, etc etc). There is also no English translations, so guessing amongst the stock photos almost guarantees errors. Waste of time.
Works better at voice recognition than my computer but its missing the written parts of the lessons that only show on the computer. I didn't even know about that until I checked the site for something else and ran into it. So I've been skipping lessons without knowing for weeks now. Also i have caught the voice recognition getting a few (admittingly simular) sounds mixed up. So outside spoken practice is definitely recommend (I'm using this for Japanese)
They will force you to sign up for an account. Then they will tell you about their pricing. Also you can't delete your account. You will be forced to send them an email to request account deletion. Addendum: sending them an email to delete your account does not delete your account. They send a link where you now must submit an additional form with personal information to a 3rd party to request account deletion. Do not download this app or sign up!
Great app for learning. Fun to use too.this would be a five but I've had to reload it twice due to locking up.

Can't see things. The phone version of the app shows ridiculously small images. How am I supposed to use it if I can't recognize things?
No matter how you pronounce it in the speach part it doesn't work. It needs a lot of work on that.
Always get a sign-in failure. *update- nothing changes. I have contacted support team multiple times. The problem is never fixed. I love Rosetta Stone, I just hate the app.
It's alot more to take in than what I thought, but love how it has a little tool you can push to help you along the way!! Can't wait to work more with this application!
Progressing through the lessons is ready enough, but it reminds me that I can take a test well. For many questions, one need only to know one word to answer correctly, thus learning the language is secondary. For example, you may need to choose between four pictures, which will have a boy, girl, man or woman. You don't need to know what the question is asking, you only need to know the word for boy, girl, man or woman
Really struggled with even the first lesson, no opportunity to replay what you hear, then it moves on to having to click a match to what you hear (oddly it does allow you to replay what you hear this time) but clicking on the image doesn't do anything. It would really help if underneath everything there was a phonetic translation - it would cater to different learning types, not just aural
Great language learning app! Best at teaching the language without internal interpretation. They rely a lot on pattern recognition in the early stages though, which may be an issue for someone pursuing Spanish again after secondary school. I see this as a small crutch.
Very good language learning app. Some work needs to be done to improve voice recognition. I can pronounce a word and get it wrong then pronounce it again the exact same way and it get it 100% correct.
Extremely inconsistent experience. I have constant issues with lessons showing that they're not complete even though I've gone all the way through them multiple times. Doesn't prevent me form using the app, but poor polish from a development stand point. If this was free I wouldn't care, but for a rather expensive paid service, it comes across as very lazy.
I think this app is more for people who have some knowledge of Spanish.
The problem is ideological. So it won't be fixed. It simply requires a translation available for when you can't guess what the pictures are attempting to convey. I use it because I'm masochistic. There are many better sources. MANY.I like the learning lessons but it doesn't translate in English so I have to pull up the Google translater to know what I'm saying but besides that it's been great so far
For the most part, I like the app. It's easy to use, and it fills up my lunch time with a constructive activity. But there are other times when I find it frustrating. When a panel is completed, the app rushes on to the next. I would like to have the time to review, especially if there is new material to learn. Often, I haven't figured out what the new words mean, and the program advances with feeling like I paid for a program that isn't for me. If I had not paid so much for it, I might just move on to another language tutor.
There is something wrong with the pronunciation exercises. When in one single excecise I have to say several phrases, only the first one works. The app will say "we are having trouble hearing you" even though it just heard me right 5 seconds ago. No way I'm paying for this if I cannot practice pronunciation.
Difficult to distinguish between males and females in pics. Otherwise, great!

It seems like an alright app, but there is no way to delete your account. I made a mistake trying to sign into an account that my local library set up for patrons and ended up making an account with my email. But now I can't access the library one on my phone because it has the same email as the account I accidently created. And I have tried looking up ways to get rid of the unwanted account but it says my online time has expired. Now I can only use it on a computer which isn't convenient at all
Absolutely outstanding. I am 00 satisfied with this magnificent product. It has been easy to use and retain the information. The pronunciation aspect is invaluable and fun. I would recommend this and already have to my friends and anyone who wants to learn Japanese.
Been trying to get a hold of customer support was disconnected 7 times from the online aupport chat and i tried calling customer support as of right now was not able to get a hold them.
great app would give it a five if Latin was included in choice language
The app is almost exactly like the desktop program, and the combination of verbal repetition and pictoral text quizes is effective. One major negative is that the Learn English program is labeled in advanced English and first time learners will struggle to navigate the menus. If you have a budget phone without the native language of the user, it will be a struggle.
I think that the platform is great and obviously they must be doing something right since they've been around for so long. In today's day and age there are simply to many programs that are equal though and FREE.
App seems to have everything the full p.c. program does. Still, could use some translating helpers, such as pronunciation text. Would save me from having to google whether that was a 'b or g sound'.
For the most part it's pretty fun though I have to guess why certain words and annunciations are spelled differently without an actual explanation but I am getting by pretty well.
I bought a three month subscription and for the first two weeks it was great. But the app broke and now I'm in service support hell. The people are helpful but they dont follow up with anything quickly and they keep on asking me for info I already sent or dont have. They are wasting my money. Update: It took about 10 days to get a fix. Baroni is great as a support person.
It's great to learn the four activities of a language using solely the language itself and visuals. Rosetta Stone even explains grammar in the same way. Refreshing approach to language learning.
Mostly quite good. Sometimes I cannot figure out how to match phrases with pictures.
It's a very good app, and I like the immersion approach. But I have a couple suggestions. The app should, but doesn't, remember the setting whether or not to advance to the next screen. It should, but doesn't, remember where you left off when you close and reopen it. The French should appear after each "listening" screen is finished -- how else can you be certain that you correctly heard what was spoken in French? Another good app that's worth a look is Mango.
Going well. Just make sure you have a good microphone.
The app is appropriate and aplomb, but a few tweaks would make it stellar: an on-screen indicator telling you how many more exercises in the lesson would be good, better screen awareness: images are the same size in portrait and landscape when they could be enlarged and making exercises easier, there seems to be some discrepancies every now and again on the total number of lessons completed vs lessons available (I am always on lesson 39 of 38, for instance).
Awesome so far! Easy to use!
