Hawks Trade: Al Horford Louis Williams 2012 1st 2014 1st
Lakers Trade: Dwight Howard
This trade just doesnt do it for me. I think the Lakers should have gotten more, but at least they get some youth. Hawks improving

So putting your hopes on these two guys not resigning makes his 2014 valuable? That is just dumb.

I got what I could for Howard. Since it was made clear over the last 24 hours. That he wanted out.

if DH and josh smith wont resign with hawks then 2014 pick can be of super value imho exactly why the Lakers probably didn't get more, if Dwight was on a longer deal then it would be a bad trade, but now the Hawks are really gambling on this season.

Still wouldve taken George and Hibbert but thats why I'm not GM Lakers are in salary hell, if they take that deal they would just end up dumping Hibbert in the future and not resigning George (who would probably demand max). It might not have been the better option, but it was the cheaper option and that's probably the route the Lakers will have to go until they clear enough salary.

Taking my deal would of actually been less money spent for the Lakers now... Kobe comes off the books when George would be getting his nex contract which is what 13m first year max for first free agency contract? So the salary cap point is moot. They are still in cap hell.

I guess, maybe it was the 1st then since the Hawks are taking a bigger risk then you are (even if you lost Dwight, you still have Granger, Hawks best player under contract next year is Teague). If the Hawks really screw up they would easily be a bottom feeding team next year unless they got something else (if there is anything else besides Smoove and Dwight). And that means Wiggins/Parker or Randle for the Lakers. I don't really know why they didn't accept, but I don't think the dropoff is really horrible if what your saying is true.
